Abiora is not a bank deposit and is not covered by any deposit insurance or guarantee scheme.
Please only use Abiora with money you can afford to have temporarily unavailable while we are in beta.
1.Who we are
Abiora (“Abiora”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME],
registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. You can reach us at
[SUPPORT EMAIL], or by typing support in the Abiora chat.
2.Agreeing to these terms
By creating a Abiora account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not
use Abiora. These terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
3.Abiora is not a bank
We are not a bank and we do not provide banking services.
Money you hold in Abiora is not a bank deposit.
Your balance is not protected by any deposit protection scheme, including the NDIC in Nigeria, the Ghana Deposit
Protection Corporation, or any equivalent scheme where you live.
We do not pay interest on balances.
Nothing in the service is investment, tax or financial advice.
4.Private beta
Abiora is offered as a private beta while we build and test it. This means:
Features may change, be paused or be withdrawn without notice.
The service may be unavailable or interrupted at times.
We may set limits on balances, transaction sizes or how many people can join.
You should not rely on Abiora as your only way of holding or moving money.
5.Who can use Abiora
To open an account you must:
be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract;
use your own phone number and open only one account;
give us accurate information and keep it up to date;
not be acting on behalf of somebody else without telling us;
not be a resident of, or acting for anyone in, a country or on a list subject to applicable sanctions.
6.Your account, PIN and security
Your account is identified by your phone number, which links your WhatsApp and Telegram access to one balance.
You choose a 6-digit PIN. It confirms every transaction — keep it secret.
We will never ask you for your PIN. Anyone who does is not us.
You are responsible for activity carried out with your PIN and from your messaging accounts.
We may temporarily lock a PIN after repeated wrong attempts to protect you.
Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access to your account or phone.
7.WhatsApp and Telegram
Abiora is accessed through WhatsApp and Telegram, which we do not own or control. Availability depends on those
platforms, and their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. Messages you send to Abiora pass
through their systems.
8.Adding and withdrawing money
Deposits and top-ups are handled by third-party payment providers. We credit your balance once the provider
confirms the payment to us.
Withdrawals to a local bank account are available to users in Nigeria and Ghana.
We may delay, decline or reverse a transaction where we suspect an error or fraud, or where we are required to
by law.
9.Currency conversion
Balances are held in US dollars. When we convert to or from your local currency, we show you the rate and the
amount before you confirm. Exchange rates move constantly, and the rate shown applies only to that transaction at
that moment.
10.Sending money to other users
Transfers to another Abiora user are instant.
Once you confirm a transfer with your PIN, it cannot be reversed.
Please check the recipient's Abiora ID carefully. We cannot recover money sent to the wrong person.
11.Airtime and other services
Airtime and similar services are delivered by third-party providers and mobile networks. Where a purchase fails, we
will credit the amount back to your balance. We are not responsible for network faults or delays outside our control.
12.Invite & Earn (referrals)
You earn a reward when someone joins using your invite link, funds their account and buys qualifying airtime.
The current amounts and conditions are shown in the app.
Rewards are capped, and each person can only be referred once.
We may change, pause or end the programme at any time.
We may withhold or reverse rewards where we see abuse, such as fake or duplicate accounts or self-referral.
13.Fees
Today there is no fee to open an account and no fee to transfer between Abiora users. Currency conversion uses
the rate shown to you before you confirm. If we introduce fees, we will tell you before they apply to you.
14.Things you must not do
Break the law, or use Abiora for money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud or any criminal purpose.
Use someone else's identity, account or payment method.
Try to gain unauthorised access to our systems, or interfere with the service.
Use bots, scraping or automation to abuse the service or any promotion.
Give false information to us or to a payment provider.
15.Identity checks and compliance
We may need to verify your identity and the source of your funds, and may ask you for documents. We may limit,
suspend or refuse transactions until checks are complete, and we must comply with lawful requests from regulators,
courts and law enforcement.
16.Suspending or closing an account
We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, where we are required
to by law, or to protect you or other users. You may close your account at any time by contacting support. We will
return any remaining balance to you, subject to any checks we are required to carry out.
17.Availability and our responsibility
While in beta, Abiora is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for
indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, including failures of
messaging platforms, payment providers or mobile networks. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot
be excluded by law.
18.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service develops. Where a change materially affects you, we will let you know
through the service. Continuing to use Abiora after a change means you accept the updated terms.
19.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW — confirm with your lawyer], and
disputes will be dealt with by the courts of [JURISDICTION], unless the law where you live
gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
